I feel like it's taking unfair advantage of height and the dogs are possibly confused ... I tend to get down on hands and knees and try to mimic the body language I see them use on each other when they're engaged in play fights and challenges ... stuff like putting a paw out on their shoulder, jumping forward and back. This will usually get the big belgian engaged, where any coaxing I try to do from a two legged stance is ignored 98% of the time. Then after a little bit I try to steer that play vibe over toward the other dog (since I won't stand a chance on 4 legs). I don't know if doing this makes me less alpha in their eyes ... not that I can tell.
