The first time I ever tasted boysenberry I was at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park in 1973 or 72. I was utterly happy about the park, it was much more exciting than disneyland and because of the Berry farm thing they had all kinds of cool berry things. Up until then best thing I had ever tasted was strawberries off the vine, but when I tried some boysenberry ice cream there I was blow away. I had to try boysenberry in as many ways as they sold. It is the most delightful thick rich kind of taste, there a strong acidity (that in bad ones can taste for yuck) but when you get a sweet one it is a beautiful shine in it's stygian depths of flavor.
rats, raccoons, birds and bears. and ants.

whatever strawberries were, and they were, the creatures had them.
blessed creatures.
