The world had an interesting bit about a recent book detailing British History in Kenya and in particular it's response to the Mau-Mau uprising during the 50's & the present British government's response to the call for a formal apology. It's stunning in that I expected so much more from that government, I always think of british society as being more mature than american but when you realize this is the liberal party officially spouting off crap like "Britian has nothing to apologize for in Africa" and `it was a long time ago and doesn't have any bearing on current event' that they're no fucking better than the next bunch of inbred racist pigfuckers.

They even had some cunt on trying to give this apologist "it was unfortunate but the Mau-Mau's were just as bad" line, atrocity does not justify atrocity. And even if you're childish enough to find some kernal of mitigation in that the comperative british scale of insults makes it even more laughable.

The only people who are even close to have a truly mature society are the dutch and even they've got a boat load of issues.
