litchwoke up to NPR's OTM (On The Media) babbling about blogging, talking about the eason jordan affair. I'd find the traditional media's hand wringing over this hilarious if it wasn't so pathetic. As faux news so aptly demonstrates the presence of editors, journalistic pedigrees and the entire infrastructure of a modern media organizationdoesn't make for accurate, balanced ethical journalism. This is one of the first fulfilments of the promise of the internet, a truly free press, not controlled by gatekeepers of money, access, and priveledge.
So I gotout of bed and let the dogs convince me to go to the dog park before it started raining in earnest this afternoon. Beautful gray drizzle kind of day, but the compacted soil they have there really makes me sad. It desperately needs to aerated, I need to contact the city and ask when they are planning on doing that. I've thought about going there with a pitch fork and starting to do it by hand but my pitchfork isn't really right for that. I might go get one at home depot sometime, i've got that gift certificate I am apparently too afraid to turn off the water for the house to use on the new feed line for the front toilet.
After wandering around there for an hour or so I decided I wanted more doggies than the 4-5 that were there I drove down to the park on shoal creek, by lamar. We walked down to the where the frisbee golf rental trailer is and then back. Still wanted more dogs so we went over to norwood park (on riverside). The community there is really stuff for that park, there were 8-9 big piles of compost they'd had delivered and they've built a new retaining wall. It really is looking much better than it used to. I feel like I should step up and try to organize something like that for bull creek but I am too lazy to really do that.
