Paul knows everybody

One of the stories of the tribe I was a part of here in the 90's is that "paul knows everybody". It always seemed like whenever we went some place we'd run into someone he knew, often someone he hadn't seen for years. It seemed uncanny, but I suppose it's not as unusual as it seemed, most of us were from other towns and places, Paul grew up in the area and was an almost obsessively gregarious teenager, good looking, witty and cheshire personable. So it really wasn't that odd when we got to a SciFi con and we'd run into people, or standing in line for the cool new FX movie de jure, but it did seem kind of unusual when you hook up with someone and discover during breakfast that she and paul had dated once upon a time or when walking through the woods and needing directions getting stumbled over by a some guy who dated his sister.
