You're being mean
Oct. 16th, 2003 08:29 amNancy just said I was being mean.
stickcow was talking about fights with her ex-mother in law over custody of her kids, I asked "so are you sure you're not just more concerned about "winning" than the best circumstances for your kids?"
I am really frustrated that people read this out as being mean. It's admittadly provocative, but I wasn't saying that's what she was doing, I was not accusing her of anything I was just asking her if she'd thought about it. It's a pretty important issue, important enought that we have an entire subset of our justice system set up to address just those questions.
It didn't seem to piss truffle off, but it sure roiled up several of her friends. It's just fucked that asking a question that can have a unwanted answer can make people so upset. It makes it all that much more difficult to ask questions like that, questions that need to be asked.
