Gah, I am pissed at myself. I accidently deleted the second half of a show I wanted to watch on PBS called The Aleutians: Cradle Of The Storms. It wasn't really that great a show in all honesty but then there aren't a hell of a lot of shows on the Aleutians to compare with and I was enjoying the nostalgia the pictures of the wind swept tunda fields and frozen seas evoked. It was what my mother would have called a "poor little indian" show going on to sacharain length about how the poor Aleuts got screwed over by the various invading races (Russians, American, and Japanese). It's true, they did get screwed but not all that signifigantly more than any other indigenous race living somewhere people with bigger guns wanted, and infact signifigantly less than alot of other races who lived in more desirable or dealt with less humane invaders.

Still the anthropology, history, and other information on a place I used to live was kinda cool and I was really looking forward to seeing it. I could buy it (though not online for some stupid reason) but we can't spare the cash.

I am sorry you missed your show. I get nostalgic to. I remember grandpa(Dad for you of course) Picking me with the three wheeler while I was walking home from school. And King Keeping us safe from the bears. He was such a good dog!And Your huge stacks of comic books! Thanks for sharing those by the way. I must say Uncle Mike You were EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD at sharing with us.
I also agree with your take on how we have gone about creating the U.S. . That has ever been the way of it. IF a culture develops enough to invade and take over another than they tend to do it! The perception over it has just gotten a little skewed as it has become the "uncivilized" thing to do. I don't think we need to go do it now of course. but Neither do I think of America as the "evil empire' we get painted as sometimes. every nation in this world exists because they over came another.
How has your house situation worked out by the way? Keeping you in my prayers if you don't mind. Hey if nothing else it is positive spiritual energy!

I've been thinking about you an Nan a lot-- the situation that you are in has to be a challenge =(. I've got no idea what the employers out there are thinking, what with all the skill that you and Nancy have got. I bet that both of you could get a job down here in NO in a heartbeat, at least a basic one-- a good employee is really hard to come by here.
